A fatal hit-and-run incident that left two dead and another injured in Bandar Baru Klang has taken a new turn, as police confirm that an elderly restaurant owner will be charged in court over the case.

The incident, which happened along Jalan Pekan Baru, involved a sport utility vehicle (SUV) that struck three pedestrians before fleeing the scene.
Two of the victims were elderly sisters (aged 57 and 62), who died at the scene. Another 17-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment. The crash quickly went viral online, sparking public outrage and calls for justice.
Suspect to be charged
Police investigations revealed that the suspect is a 75-year-old man who reportedly runs a restaurant business, will be charged under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act, which provides for a jail term of 5 to 10 years, along with a fine ranging from RM20,000 to RM50,000.
He was escorted by investigating officers to the court complex following a five-day remand period.
Police added that the suspect was arrested at his restaurant shortly after the incident, and background checks showed he has no prior criminal or drug-related record.
