The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has officially suspended its online vehicle ownership transfer service nationwide starting today (25 May) after receiving multiple fraud-related complaints involving unauthorized ownership transfers.
Service suspended starting May 25

According to JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, the decision comes amid growing concerns from vehicle owners who claimed their vehicles or registration numbers were transferred without their knowledge or consent.
Therefore, starting May 25, all vehicle ownership transfer transactions for both individuals and private companies must be done physically at JPJ counters nationwide.
For individual ownership transfers, the process can be completed on the same day at any state JPJ and branch offices.
Meanwhile, transfers involving private companies will require around five to seven working days for confirmation and approval after complete documents are submitted.
STMS continues, eSTM suspended
JPJ also announced that only the Temporary Ownership Transfer System (STMS) under the eAuto service provider channel will continue operating as usual.
However, the permanent ownership transfer service through the eSerahan Tukar Milik (eSTM) system has been suspended. Used car dealers and other parties seeking permanent ownership transfers must now submit their applications manually at JPJ state offices or branches.
