An elderly man was attacked and targeted in an attempted robbery by two men in Seremban Jaya, with footage of the incident now circulating online.
According to a post by Facebook user Jes BK, the incident happened at around 5.30pm on 15 September in Seremban Jaya Phase 3. The account owner claimed that his father was the victim and was allegedly targeted by two men.
The elderly man reportedly suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment following the incident.
Attempted robbery reportedly interrupted
Based on the video, the attempted robbery appeared to be interrupted after members of the public in a nearby shop noticed what was happening. The two suspects reportedly fled after people started gathering at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been independently verified. As of now, the information available comes from the victim’s family member’s social media post and the viral recording. Any official confirmation from the police would be needed to establish what exactly happened.
Residents urged to stay alert
The incident has also prompted reminders for elderly residents to be extra careful when travelling alone, particularly in quieter or less crowded areas.
Members of the public are advised not to confront suspicious individuals or put themselves at risk if they witness something unusual. Instead, move to a safe location and contact the authorities.
Authorities have yet to provide further details on the case at the time of writing.
