A terrifying moment was caught on a dashcam when a child fell out of an SUV after its left-side door suddenly swung open while the vehicle was making a right turn at a junction in Sungai Petani, Kedah.
The incident reportedly happened at around 8.08am 1st January near a skills college. Footage shared online showed the child tumbling onto the road as the SUV turned, before getting back up moments later. A man believed to be the child’s father immediately jumped out from the driver’s seat and carried the child back into the vehicle.
Dashcam witness urges parents to take precautions
The motorist who recorded the incident said they were shaken after witnessing the entire scene and hoped the child was not injured.
The footage has since prompted safety reminders from netizens, who urged parents to activate their vehicles’ child safety locks whenever travelling with young children. Some also stressed that children should always be secured in appropriate car seats, adding that parents should take every precaution to prevent similar incidents.
