The brawl reportedly broke out at a mamak restaurant in Taman Universiti, Skudai, after two groups of supporters backing different teams allegedly clashed while watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup match live.

Videos circulating on social media showed several people arguing loudly outside the restaurant before the situation allegedly escalated.

At one point, a chair was allegedly thrown, while others appeared to shove and scuffle with each other as bystanders watched.

In an attempt to defuse the situation, the mamak operator reportedly switched off the big screen broadcasting the match.
The videos quickly sparked reactions online, with many netizens questioning how a match that did not even involve Malaysia could end in a physical confrontation.



Others said supporting a football team is part of the excitement of the World Cup, but argued that rivalries should never escalate into violence.
