In a fun episode of LADbible’s “Snack Wars,” British Malaysian actor Henry Golding proved he is truly Anak Malaysia as he matched beloved Malaysian snacks against British favourites.
Golding was born on 5 February 1987 in Betong, Sarawak, Malaysia. His mother, Margaret Likan, is a native-born Sarawakian of Dayak Iban ancestry, and his father, Clive Golding, is English. The youngest of three children, Golding’s family lived in Terengganu for almost five years before moving to Surrey, England, when he was eight. He later attended The Warwick School in Redhill. After working as a hairdresser in London, Golding moved back to Malaysia at age 21 to pursue on-camera roles in Kuala Lumpur.

In the video, Henry Golding chose Mamee Monster, Durian Biscuits, Teh Tarik, and Mi-mi Crab Crisps against Monster Munch, Jam Tarts, Yazoo, and Scampi Fries, meanwhile the only British snack that won was Jaffa Cakes, against Glutinous Rice Balls.

Evidently, the video quickly caught the attention of many, especially Malaysians and here’s what some of them said:

Malaysian snacks triumphed with a 4 to 1 win. The joy on Golding’s face said it all. Netizens beamed with pride and thanked him for representing Malaysia with such heart and authenticity.
