The Transport Ministry and Road Transport Department (JPJ) have suspended payment services through MYEG and Zetrix AI from Oct 5 over RM314 million in outstanding government revenue.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the amount had accumulated since May, rejecting reports that the arrears had been outstanding for three years.
Loke said the suspension was necessary because the companies had failed to fulfil their obligation to remit government revenue collected on behalf of JPJ.
What led to the MYEG and Zetrix suspension?
He said MYEG had submitted a RM231 million cheque on Aug 21, dated Sept 30, to settle part of the outstanding amount. However, when the cheque was presented to the bank on Sept 30, it was not processed after the company instructed the bank not to honour it.

Loke said the government therefore had to take action by suspending payment services through both MYEG and Zetrix AI. He stressed that the decision had nothing to do with alleged political links involving the companies, saying the government’s focus was whether they had fulfilled their financial obligations.
“Whether they are linked to anyone is irrelevant to me. One thing is certain: they have no connection whatsoever to my party. But which party they are linked to is not our consideration,” he said.
Loke also hit back at social media users calling for his resignation over the suspension, saying the companies responsible for the unpaid revenue should instead be held accountable.
“The company that didn’t pay is not being asked to take responsibility, but the minister is the one being asked to face action. What kind of logic is that?” he said.
